CCTV Tour


          TV is the invention that changed the life in the world. It joined the north to the south and the east to the west. People can watch moves, news, programs and other TV shows through the TV. At the beginning it was based on very simple materials but year by year the materials and the equipments became more developed. Finally, it appears in that magnificent way. 

          People always dream to visit a TV studio and watch the workers how to do the work and how to edit the programs before they were shown on the TV. Once one of TIUA class decided to go a Capital Community Television (CCTV) studio and it was like a dream to the student that they have been dreaming about since they was young. The student just counted the days to go. The promising day has officially come.  The student went to it. It was a big building in the downtown. From the moment they entered the building it was like the student owned the word. The cameras were everywhere surrounding the place. The staff welcomed them and began to explain the nature of the work and how to deal with it daily. They were so excited to know each single thing about cameras so that it could help them to do the TV project with their group. I’m so excited to start doing the project which they would feel like the video makers just in a moment. From their point of view our visit to the Capital Community Television was the best choice ever. Now they student can start their project with full information about the how to use the cameras and take some photos in a very incredible way.

Delight your Life with Colorful Flowers

          Flowers may help people to get rid of the stress of a busy week. Those peaceful colorful flowers delight the souls of people of all ages. A land that covered with all kinds of flowers is simply a heaven on earth.

        From March 25th to Mat 1 the Tulip festival takes place every year in Woodburn between Portland and Salem. This festival is all about flowers. It shows people all kinds of flowers that grow in the Willamette Vally  such as, Tulip, Daffodil, Rose, Gipsy Princess and many countless names of flowers.

      This colorful festival makes visitors happy 
and smile because they see the source of happiness and joy. Through the festival people try to take thousands of photos of their families between the flowers to remember the view and how gorgeous it was.


       These Peaceful innocent flowers grow silently and there are nothing can break that silence accept the  fragrant smell can bring two lovers together. Also, it can be a lovely gift for a patient who keeps the pain hidden under his smile. Moreover, these creatures decorate people’s occasions such as weddings, proms and even inside their house.  


Salem Cinebarre


          Nowadays  business plays the most important part of the world economy. The economy depends on many factors such as supply and demand etc. Each city in the world must have its own economy and that economy represents in shops, restaurants, factories, schools and so many businesses.  For instance, Salem has a lot of economic things like Movie Theater. One example of it is cinebarre.

             Salem Cinebarre is a Movie Theater that located in downtown Salem next to Salem Centre. This cinema established last year 2010. It is a new modern one. So, it is so different from the other old cinemas in Salem. It mostly targets couples and because of that most of the customers are couples from different ages.
    Usually Salem Cinebarre serves food and drinks. There are 10 rooms and each room has a big Movie Theater screen. And in front of the screen there are seats shaped like half circle and in addition there are tables in front of the seats where customers can order the dinner.
      This new Movie Theater is a very incredible one because people can watch movie and eat in the same time. 




  These are called baby dolls .

Mission Mill Museum



           
Usually the capital cities must have famous heritage places that can show people from all over the world the history of the city or how famous it is. One famous place in Salem called Mission Mill Museum. This museum was established in 1890 by Thomas L. Kay and more than 50 worked and did their efforts too. In 1900, Kay passed away and  his son Thomas B. Kay took the lead and became the president. He worked for the mill until he died in 1931.

       This old treasure museum is famous of one thing which is a water power and how the mill run using the water. The museum is located in Salem, OR next to Willamette University and in front of Tokyo International University of America.
          It includes two buildings. The first building contains of the exhibit and a small wooden rural coffee. The exhibit flowed like a small rooms opened on each other and no doors separated them. The first room has contained of colored wool that was covered all the shelves on the wall. The second room was full of old fashioned souvenirs and people might feel nostalgic when they first notice the souvenirs because most of them shaped just look like the things that used in the past. And the last room was an office for the man who works in the exhibit.
        The old wooden rural coffee shop was a small coffee with wooden tiles covered the floor and the walls made of wood as well. The square wooden tea tables were designed in a very spectacular way in the coffee.    

       And the second building is the museum where people can see the mill and how it works by the water power. And in order to get in the museum people must buy tickets and get in so that they can enjoy the tour.

World Beat Festival

         The World Beat festival is an annual event that takes place in summer June 25th and 26th in the park in front of Willamette River. It is two-day nonstop program.

        This program supports international cultures from different several countries and For instance, Turkish, Egypt, Pakistan, India, and Canada. The park becomes covered with the white camps and each group of camps represents one country then people can enjoy watching different cultures, dances, tradition food and each country’s costume.

          People may spend the whole day in the park to complete one round. The visitors enjoy the program so much because they can taste different kinds of food. In addition they can sit on the grass enjoy watching the different type of dances like the Japanese dance and the Egyptian dance. Also, they can join the forging people and dance with them. That must be a great thing that may attract the visitors.

The Pow-wow Event in Salem

 The Pow-wow is a Native American event. The world Powwow is taken from an Indian word. The first part refers to gathering and the second part refers to a religious ceremony. The Powwow dance dance goes back to the Ohama to a period about thousand years ago. Powwow is a traditional event for the Native American.  
         On 12 of March 2011 the Powwow event took place in Salem, OR in Willamette University. People decided to go and attend the Powwow event. They were so excited to see the culture of Native Americans and their heritage. What is the Powwow, What is the costume of the Native American, how they look like, and so on. From the moment the people entered the place they can touch the simplicity in their life. Their clothes, accessories, games, household utensils and tools of war like arrow and bow; all of these things are made from a nature materials like wood, glue, leather ,natural fur and Ivory.

       After the people took a look at their stuff and their daily use they went to the hall where people can see the main thing in the event which is the dancing. the visitors entered the hall and it was a very big place with seats surrounding it and the audience can sit and enjoy watching the dance show. There was an old man who held the mic and introduced the audiences to the event and the names of each dance in addition he explained the steps of each dance to become more familiar to the audiences and the aim of each dance. The first dance was called Oklahoma dance. The second one was called Star horses. The third one was called social dance and the last one was called the team dance and this dance includes men and women. After the last dance the show ended up with last song called a Flag Song and it sung by designated drums.
          The dancers were wearing traditional clothes. The women usually wore long skirts and it related to their religion beliefs. They use to color their faces with white and that what was attracted me the most. Men and women both had a long hair with two queues.  
           In the event people found a food court which included their traditional food like Fry bread and it was very delicious any one had entered the hall he\she must go and take some of this food. 
        Finally, this show had changed people's opinion about the Native American they are so friendly. They are so simple and humble. It was an amazing show and people really enjoyed watching it.
